Despite being one of the biggest fights to be made in the world right now and the most monumental in British boxing history, it seems that we’re further away than ever from a heavyweight showdown between Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
The bitter rivals have been on a collision course for years and were scheduled to finally do battle last summer, but Fury was pulled from the fight due to a contractual obligation to face Deontay Wilder for a third time. Now, with The Gypsy King’s apparent retirement from boxing, it seems that a Battle of Britain against Joshua may never happen.
Fury claims that’s not because of a lack of trying on his part, insisting that he tried to make a fight with AJ on a number of occasions.

"Tried to make that fight six times at least and unsuccessful every time because you're messing with a diva," Fury said in an interview with iFL TV. "Prima donna, little sucker b****, who don't want to fight. He couldn't beat me if he had a baseball bat while I was sleeping.
"That bird has flown. Years ago when he was an undefeated knockout artist people thought he could beat Tyson Fury. Maybe. Then when Anthony Joshua got bounced off the canvas by Andy Ruiz, people said ‘he's a bodybuilder, Tyson's right he hasn't got a chance’. Then he goes and gets beaten by a cruiserweight. I am the heavyweight king, no-one can even lace my gloves, never mind a bodybuilder who has lost two of his last fights."
Meanwhile, WBC heavyweight champion Fury has also agreed to a $1million bet with Jake Paul over the outcome of the YouTuber-turned-boxer’s showdown with Tommy Fury.
Speaking on Twitter, Fury goaded Paul, claiming he’ll need the money to fix his teeth after fighting his younger brother at Madison Square Garden on August 6th.
"What you can do Jakey boy is spend it on your new teeth. You will need that $1 million for dental work when Tommy is done with you, you little sucker.”
