When it comes to the summer spectacle that is the Wimbledon Championships, most tickets are like gold dust and snapped up months in advance, but there is still a way to attend matches at this year’s tournament.
Wimbledon remains one of the few major sporting events that offers visitors the chance to purchase tickets on the day of play. But, of course, with the significant interest there comes a good old-fashioned, traditionally British queue.
The Queue at Wimbledon is, in fact, considered by many as part of the rich experience that SW19 has to offer for the two weeks. You will undoubtedly see people enjoying the synonymous strawberries and cream and Pimm’s while they wait.

For those interested in venturing to southwest London from next Monday it is worth noting that the Queue can often start the evening before or early in the morning of the day of play they wish to attend. On offer are a limited number of Show Court tickets as well as Grounds tickets, depending on capacity.
Those wishing to queue for tickets in the showpiece Centre Court will have the chance to purchase tickets in the seating blocks numbered 300+ if they are available, with all other seats having either been balloted already or sold to members. The pricing categories for those still remaining are divided into A and B. As you would expect, the earlier you attend in the tournament, the cheaper the tickets.
So on Monday 27 June, the lowest-priced tickets on Centre Court are available for £75 (Category A) and £70 (B), while tickets for quarter-final matches on Wednesday 6 July are available for £175 (A) and £165 (B). This is the final day where there’s a chance for people to queue up for Centre Court tickets on the day as the semi-final and final days are sold out in advance.
