Arsenal 4-0 Tottenham Hotspur

The North London Derby at the Emirates Stadium didn't disappoint, unless you happen to be a Tottenham fan. Jonas Eidevall's side ran riot in front of a WSL record crowd of 47,367. Lionesses hero Beth Mead opened the scoring just five minutes in to this battle for local bragging rights. Vivianne Miedema added a brace either side of a Rafaelle Souza strike to complete the rout. A thrilling start to the WSL weekend.

Brighton and Hove Albion 2-1 Reading

Reading were condemned to their second defeat of the season as Brighton picked up their first points of the campaign. Goals from Lee Geum-min and Katie Robinson were enough to seal the victory for Hope Powell's side, while Charlie Wellings scored a late consolation for the visitors.

West Ham United 0-2 Manchester United

Lucia Garcia and Hannah Blundell scored their first goals for the club as Manchester United kept up their perfect start to the 2022-23 term. The two goals came within a five-minute period early in the second-half as Marc Skinner's side have given their rivals another taste of what is to come from them this year.

Leicester City 0-2  Aston Villa

Villa's perfect start to the season continued at the King Power Stadium as Carla Ward's team followed up their emphatic victory over Manchester City last time out with another against last year's strugglers Leicester. England defender Rachel Daly got on the scoresheet for the second successive week as she dispatched a penalty inside five minutes to give the visitors the lead. Emily Gielnik wrapped up the three points minutes from time with a composed finish after latching onto a  Kenza Dali pass.

Chelsea 2-0 Manchester City

Chelsea responded to their opening day defeat against Liverpool with a victory over Manchester City. Goals from Fran Kirby and Maren Mjelde gave Emma Hayes' side their first points of the season. They were not at their best in the first half but they significantly improved for the second to earn a valuable victory.

Liverpool 0-3 Everton

Anfield may have had a decent crowd for the first WSL Merseyside derby of the season, but they were stunned into silence as Everton outclassed Liverpool, bringing them back down to Earth following their majestic opening day victory against Chelsea. Goals from Megan Finnigan, Jess Park and Hanna Bennison were enough to secure the Toffees their first win of the season.
