Conor McGregor Slams His Performance In Revealing Analysis Of Khabib Nurmagomedov Defeat

Conor McGregor has made sure that he’s remained firmly in the spotlight following his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229.

The Irishman has been spotted at gigs, the NFL, and most recently Katie Taylor’s victory over Cindy Serrano in the boxing ring, and now he’s revealed on Instagram - in detail - just how his fight against Khabib played out, from his perspective.

McGregor gave his 29.1million followers a round-by-round analysis, from the first through to the fourth.

He called the opening round a victory for Khabib from "a sport standpoint" but success for him from "a fight standpoint," then went on to label the second as “the worst round of my fighting career,” following a “right hand that changed the course of the round, and the fight - It was a nice shot.”

The Notorious admitted that he was wrong to give his opponent’s “upright fighting no respect in preparation,” and rued his own focus on defensive grappling, instead of being more attack-minded in this particular area.

The 30-year-old believed he bounced back to take the third round, but his recovery let him down in the fourth, and a "critical error" meant he ended up being “beaten fair and square”.

McGregor ended the post by stating his confidence remained high and should he not be granted an immediate rematch against Khabib, he will “face the next in line”.

It will be interesting to see what happens next with Khabib potentially following in the footsteps of McGregor and face Floyd Mayweather in the boxing ring, but should he remain in the UFC the Lightweight Champion could well face Tony Ferguson.
