Deontay Wilder sent social media into a frenzy following an appearance on Nación ESPN.

The video, posted to Twitter, showed the unbeaten heavyweight champion unleashing a thunderous punch to the face of a moustache mascot, which unsurprisingly sent the dancing mascot crashing to the floor, while the presenters held their hands to their faces in shock.

Rumours quickly spread like wildfire that the mascot had suffered a broken jaw, while other reports claimed that the Bronze Bomber somehow didn’t realise that there was a person inside the costume.

Now Wilder has taken to social media to give his side of the story.

“Yea, anything headline I didn’t know a “Human Being” like come on now, I guess the Mascot rolled out there. Show so respect!

“I sincerely apologize to the brave man that was injured (if this is true) I have the up most high respect for him, his participation, willingness and courage.

“If this is true I personally would like to invite him to my Dec1 fight. World Is Bond.”

Showtime has since confirmed that the mascot did not suffer a broken jaw, and going on Wilder's post he's been invited by the champ to his upcoming fight against Tyson Fury at the Staples Centre in Los Angeles, which is probably just about enough to the suffer the blow of the punch he took live on TV.

Meanwhile, Fury is back on social media after previously stating that he was planning to take a vow of silence until the fight. You can watch the Gypsy King's return to Twitter RIGHT HERE.
