The wait ends this weekend, as WWE returns with their first Premium Live Event since WrestleMania. This Sunday’s WrestleMania Backlash will feature, you guessed it, all the backlash from last month’s WrestleMania. Although scores were settled at ‘The Showcase of the Immortals’, some of those feuds are still raging on in the aftermath.
‘The Baddest Woman on the Planet’ Ronda Rousey will get her chance at revenge, after Charlotte Flair cheated to defeat her at ‘The Show of Shows’. The SmackDown Women’s Championship will be on the line in an I Quit match. Flair has already tapped out to Rousey’s signature armbar in recent weeks, but will it be enough to put the champion away on Sunday night?
Speaking of champions, WrestleMania Backlash will feature a six-man tag team match utterly stacked with them. Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will team up with his cousins, WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions The Usos to meet Drew McIntyre and WWE Raw Tag Team Champions Randy Orton and Riddle. This is expected to be the first stop in a Reigns/McIntyre title feud, with The Usos also set to meet RK-Bro in a unification match down the line.
Cody Rhodes stunned the wrestling world when he returned to the WWE as a surprise at WrestleMania. ‘American Nightmare’ co-founded WWE’s main rival, AEW, during his six-year absence. At WrestleMania he defeated Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins, and the pair will face off in a rematch this weekend.
The card also features the next chapter in the bitter feud between Edge and AJ Styles, Happy Corbin taking on former partner Madcap Moss and a WrestleMania rematch between Bobby Lashley and Omos.
Sounds like @MadcapMoss did not enjoy hanging out with Happy @BaronCorbinWWE.
