D-Generation X Reunion Incoming

D-Generation X have got two words for ya: “We’re back”. The Attitude Era agents of chaos will reunited on the 10th October edition of Monday Night Raw for a 25th anniversary celebration of the group. The news was revealed by the Barclays Center, the Brooklyn, New York venue that will host the reunion.

Two members of the legendary faction confirmed to appear are WWE Chief Content Officer Triple H and Senior Vice President of Talent Development Creative Shawn Michaels. Outside of the boardroom, Road Dogg and X-Pac will also be joining the festivities. Billy Gunn currently works for rival All Elite Wrestling, though the company did allow him to appear when DX was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019.

Rick Rude and Chyna passed away in 1999 and 2016 respectively. Hopefully WWE posthumously honour them in some way during the celebrations for their vital role in the growth and popularity of one of wrestling’s most enduring gangs.

Extreme Rules Takes Shape

A number of matches have been officially announced for WWE Extreme Rules. The company’s annual anything-goes extravaganza is set to take place on 8th October at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. It is a city with a rich history of hardcore wrestling, having been the home of legendary promotion Extreme Championship Wrestling during their influential run.

Five bouts have been earmarked for the show, with a wide variety of stipulations on offer for fans of the more violent end of sports entertainment. Edge will take on Judgment Day leader Finn Balor in an I Quit Match. Liv Morgan defends her SmackDown Women’s Championship against former titleist Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match. Matt Riddle will go back to his UFC roots when he meets long-time rival Seth Rollins in a Fight Pit match. Drew McIntyre will be tied to Karrion Kross in a good, old-fashioned strap match. Bianca Belair defends her Raw Women’s title against Bayley in a Ladder Match.

Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns is not expected to wrestle on the card. But there is still another week for matches to be added to what is shaping up to be a highly anticipated show.

Sami Zayn Becomes An Honourary Uce

Reigns has anointed Sami Zayn as an official member of the Bloodline, in one of the best angles of the year. ‘The Tribal Chief’ appeared to tease kicking the popular Zayn out of the group once and for all, demanding the Canadian remove a Bloodline t-shirt last week on SmackDown. But instead of attacking Zayn, Reigns gave him an Honourary Uce t-shirt to replace it.

The union is likely to be temporary as the company looks to be starting a slow-build to a Zayn face turn. Jey Uso has been a voice of dissent surrounding Zayn’s acceptance into the faction. The Bloodline are all relatives apart from mouthpiece Paul Heyman and Zayn. In the case of the latter, this point of difference looks set to eventually widen into a chasm. But for now, Zayn is part of Roman’s inner circle. It will be fascinating to see this storyline play out over the coming weeks.
