A legend picks his final opponents, a social media superstar returns and SummerSlam gets a new match added. It’s all here this week in The Grap Wrap.

Flair’s Last Stand

73-year-old icon ‘Nature Boy’ Ric Flair has announced his opponents for his final match, which will take place on 31st July in Nashville, Tennessee. The 16-time world heavyweight champion will team with his son-in-law, AEW’s Andrade El Idolo, to take on the team of Jay Lethal and WWE Hall of Famer ‘Double J’ Jeff Jarrett.

The news was broken in a video released online last night. In the clip. Lethal and Jarrett attack Flair, leaving him a bloody to set up the bout. As we reported back in May, initial plans were for Flair to team with FTR against the Rock ‘n’ Roll Express and a partner rumoured to be old rival Ricky ‘The Dragon’ Steamboat. Steamboat was quick to rule himself out, and FTR and the Express being booked in separate matches on the card indicated a change of plans had taken place.

The Flair/Andrade vs Lethal/Jarrett tag makes a lot of sense. The tag team format will allow the septuagenarian to be used sparingly, with Andrade and Lethal likely to do the hard yards. Jarrett is renowned as a safe worker and his use of the Figure Four Leg Lock makes him a natural adversary of that move’s most famous proponent, Ric Flair. Lethal has also served as Flair’s trainer for this controversial comeback, so facing an opponent he’s used to and comfortable with should help ‘Naitch’ emerge from this divisive match safely.

Logan Paul Lays Down The Challenge

Social media influencer turned WWE superstar Logan Paul returned on Monday Night Raw this week. His target was The Miz, who attacked him after their tag team win over Rey and Dominik at WrestleMania back in April.

Paul was The Miz’s guest on talk show segment Miz TV, where he riled the former WWE champion into accepting the match with a series of personal insults. The host finally accepted before Tommaso Ciampa appeared and attacked Paul. Logan’s debut singles match, and first match since signing a long-term deal with WWE, is one of the attractions the company is building around for SummerSlam.

Riddle Vs Rollins Is Official

Seth ‘Freakin’ Rollins will clash with ‘The Original Bro’ Riddle at Summerslam. The former WWE champion and the ex-UFC star have been feuding for weeks, and now this mouth-watering collision has been officially announced for The Hottest Party of the Summer.

Riddle recently hinted at some personal animosity towards Rollins in an interview with talkSPORT. “I don’t think we like one another, we’re just two different people.” said the former tag team champion, possibly in response to an earlier interview Rollins had given where he said he hoped never to have to face Riddle. It will be interesting to see if these personal differences are weaved into the storyline at all as we edge closer to SummerSlam.
