Betfred British Masters: Six Tied For The Lead As Justin Rose Falls Down Order

Sunday is set up for an absolutely thrilling day of golf...

The Betfred British Masters could be in for one of the closest finishes we have seen in years as six players are tied on seven under heading into the final day. One of those is Englishman Andy Sullivan, who produced a spectacular finish to thrust himself into contention.

The four-time DP World Tour winner birdied his final two holes to post 68 at the Belfry as he aims for his first victory in three years. He was one stroke back heading into the weekend but his quick finish means that he joins Oliver Wilson, James Morrison, Guido Migliozzi, Joost Luiten and Niklas Norgaard at the top of the leaderboard.

It was a day of multiple leaders, as the lead switched hands on several occasions. Wilson had reached the turn with the advantage but started his back nine with successive bogeys, eventually carding a two-under 70, with Morrison also temporarily leading until finishing his third-round 70 with a final-hole bogey.

Norgaard was another to briefly lead on his own, only to bogey the penultimate hole of the day, while Luiten enjoyed a phenomenal day, eagling the 17th to score 68, along with 2021’s runner-up Migliozzi.  Germany's Max Kieffer is a shot back after birdieing four of his last five holes as he moves into contention while Bryce Easton, Justin Walters and Romain Langasque are all two strokes back heading into Sunday's final round.

Former world No 1 Justin Rose is three behind after a two-over 74, in what was a disappointing day for the day one leader. He held a share of the halfway lead but slipped back after mixing two birdies with four bogeys, while fellow 36-hole co-leader Antoine Rozner was in contention until putting two balls in the water on his way to a quadruple-bogey at the par-four 10th.

There was a moment of magic to enjoy when Matthew Baldwin aced the 14th hole in style and raised £50,000 for Prostate Cancer UK in the process. That was the biggest win of the day, but tomorrow could produce a frantic finish, and the winner is almost impossible to predict.

Betfred price Luiten as the 9/2 favourite, marginally ahead of Migliozzi at 11/2 and Norgaard at 13/2. It really is anybody’s game heading into a thrilling Sunday.
