Justin Rose is having quite a week. On Sunday he was crowned the FedEx Cup champion and walked away with $10m in prize money, and on Friday he was delighting the Ryder Cup crowd with a stunning chip.
The shot has to be seen to be believed and you can watch the moment Rose and Jon Rahm went two-up against Brooks Koepka and Tony Finau below.
Rose was clearly pumped up for the morning fourballs as he and Rahm were partners for Team Europe against Koepka and Finau of the USA.
Ryder Cup rookie Rahm appears to have taken to the tournament like a duck to water, although he had to play second fiddle to Rose at the 12th hole.
The duo were one-up after eleven holes as Koepka and Finau threatened to force their way back into the match. However, Rose delighted the watching crowd with a sensational effort at the twelfth.
Rose appeared to be struggling after finding the bunker with his tee shot before then heading into the deep rough with his second shot. He had left himself plenty to do but somehow nailed a a chip with his third shot for a birdie three. SUPERB!
Rose ran up to the green to see where his shot had gone and got there in time to see it nestling in the hole, before sharing in a chest bump with Rahm and getting a fist bump off his caddie.
The effort from Rose was one of the highlights of the opening morning at Le Golf National in France, where there have been plenty of fluctuations in the scoreline as Europe and USA battle to take a lead in these fourball matches.
