We love to uncover the story behind the story, and the best way to do that is to speak to some of the biggest and best names in sport. Luckily this year we have had some incredible chats with some remarkable sportspeople, including our latest offering with Eddie Hearn. Check that out here if you missed it, but here are five other favourite interviews from the past 12 months.
Mike Tyson
“Living takes a lot of courage.” Those were the words spoken to us from one of the finest fighters of all time as he chatted to us about his tough times, cannabis, boxing and so much more. It was a true privilege to meet up with the champ, who also had one or two things to say about the man who is named after him, Tyson Fury. Enjoy in all its glory here.
Carl Lewis

From one of the hardest hitters to one of the fastest runners, Carl Lewis was another massive name we had the joy of speaking to in 2020. Lewis, a nine-time Olympic gold medalist told us, “People love speed, that’s just what it is.” The man who was the fastest in the world in his heyday shone over several disciplines, including the long jump and the relay, but opened up to us about his career, that controversial Ben Johnson race and the 2021 Olympics. Read all about it here.
Joe Marler

‘Former’ (only joking Joe) England international Joe Marler provided us with another great interview as we talked to him about the release of his book, a poo story and playing for England. Marler also spoke brilliantly about mental health and his own struggles with depression, something men still don’t speak enough about in 2020. Give this one a read here.
Joseph Parker

When the man who took Anthony Joshua the distance and won a world title after beating Andy Ruiz began singing and dancing on social media during lockdown, we knew we had to chat with Joseph Parker. The New Zealander managed to get the ever-willing Tyson Fury to send over a video of himself dancing to Build Me Up Buttercup and spread joy during this tough year. We also spoke to him a bit about boxing, Fury v AJ, and his potential acting career. Check it out here.
Anthony Curcio

We’ve spent time with top-class boxers, world and Olympic champions and England internationals, but perhaps our most staggering interview of 2020 came with a man you probably haven’t heard of. Anthony Curcio was a wide receiver for his university American football team but hit the headlines when he robbed $400,000 from an armoured bank vehicle and vanished. You simply have to read his remarkable story.
