New Balance, official sponsors of the London Marathon, are celebrating the 40th race with the unveiling of two exclusive 1500 trainers. After months of training, while elite athletes will still participate as normal, many of us will instead be taking part virtually after the event was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. However, wherever you decide to rack up your 26.2 miles on Sunday 4 October, these New Balance kicks are ideal.
The limited edition trainers feature NB's ENCAP midsole and have been made using premium pigskin and mesh upper. There’s a really cool feature on the side of the sneakers too to mark the inaugural London Marathon back in 1981, with an embroidery of ‘2:11:48’, the time set by Dick Beardsley and Inge Simonsen, who tied for first place 39 years ago.

Available in white, grey and ruby red colourways, these are sure to be a hit for racers everywhere. However, there is also a very special all-black pair with gold accents that cannot be bought, but must be worked for. While stopping off at your local during a run is never advised, this year it’s the only way you’ll land the limited edition trainers in black.

Created in conjunction with Run The Boroughs, a running club in the capital, the 1500 Pub Dash is a challenge for participants to run 2.62 miles and ensure they sprint past their local. All those who do will be entered into the hat to win a pair of the New Balance trainers. Winners, of which there will be only 40, will be selected at random, and sent the unique 1500s as well as an exclusive post-race package.
The trainers will be available to purchase via the New Balance website from October 3rd. To enter the 1500 Pub Dash, visit: newbalance.co.uk/1500-pubdash.html
