Little did Adolf ‘Adi’ Dasler know when he began to make shoes in his mother’s laundry room back in 1924, but he was on the cusp of something magnificent. The shoe company he started would go on to become one of the biggest brands in the world selling 850 million pairs every single year, acoss 160 countries. 2020 has been another breakout year for adidas and we have covered some of their finest products on our site, so let’s take a look back at their five best releases of 2020.
ZX 6000 ‘X-Ray Inside Out’
adidas releasing a pair of inside out shoes got our sneaker senses tingling, and when we saw them we were instantly hooked. The German brand has always sought innovation and with these X-Ray sneakers they have done exactly that. The interior features are now prominent on the outside with zig zag stitching the main feature. These are shoes to stand out in, and if you want to read more about these and where to find them, check out our full piece here.
The latest release of the Broomfields are synonymous with football terrace culture and in particular an inspirational story coming from Airdreonians FC in Scotland, and Mark Allison. With just months left to live, Allison’s charity work was noticed by adidas who commissioned a shoe while a number of celebrities all got behind his cause. These shoes have serious pedigree and look superb to boot. Read more about the Broomfields and the incredible Mark Allison here.

adidas x NASA Ultra Boosts
From Star Wars to… well, the stars. adidas have also teamed up with NASA this year for some truly astronomical footwear. No space puns here, but these are out of this world. Woops, sorry.
Inspired by the completely real moon landing in 1969, these sneakers pay homage to the astronauts who walked on the moon and the men who put them there. Read our full tribute to these kicks here.
adidas x New Order Spezial
You will have to show True Faith to pick up a pair of these and if you do, Blue Mondays will be a thing of the past. New Order have been leading cultural figures since 1980 and now, thanks to friend of the band and designer Gary Aspden, you can transport yourself back in time to the Hacienda in Manchester with these remarkable sneakers.
