Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be. Or at least it wasn’t until the full on, swaggering, emergence of Umbro’s latest collaboration with Liam Gallagher’s Pretty Green.
This is the second fashion coming together of 90s classic sportswear from Umbro and Britpop classics, from the man who single-handedly defined the era (Liam’s words not ours!).

‘As You Were’ is the title of Gallagher the younger’s latest solo album - and it could’ve doubled up neatly as the name of this latest collection.
Because this really is a case of throwing yourself back in time, to when it was Blur vs Oasis, Tyson vs Holyfield, Fergie vs Wenger. When you ate Space Raiders (pickled onion flavour), drank Sunny D (or Hooch!) and belted out every word of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. Good times. Simpler times.

This latest range is a uniform for those who love heading out to a gig on a Friday night, and the terraces on a Saturday. We know, we know...both of these are off limits right now, but to quote (sort of) another 90s icon...they’ll be back! And when they are, you’ll want to look your darned finest.

And that’s where Pretty Green and Umbro can help. Their homage to the 90s features a peak in what they like to call ‘all-day style’. That’s ‘out all-day style’ to me and you. Enjoying life, like the good old days eh?

Available in crew-neck or with a hood, the long-sleeve drill top is a great nod back to the era when the Brit Awards and FA Cup reigned supreme, and is reworked with a new iridescent tech fabric.
Block-striped short-sleeved football shirts, instantly hark to images in our minds of Umbro’s Euro ’96 England strip, Gazza’s goal and Gazza’s celebration against Scotland. Pure joy.

The crew-neck T’s featuring Umbro’s instantly recognisable stripe-ticking are combined with Pretty Green’s signature paisley on shoulders and sleeves. Long-sleeved training tops, with tonal arm panels, provide fresh interest, alongside zip-through track tops and a parade of training pants.
New to collection this time around are drawstring shorts, bucket hats, and limited-edition footballs.

The first collaboration flew off the shelves in no time, and is sure to happen again. You have been warned.
Prices range from £30 to £85 and the collection is available NOW - as you were.
