We've eulogised about the madness of Nike's third kits already but the official release of Inter Milan's Pirelli homage is worthy of closer investigation.
Of course, it's retro, with shameless nods to the 1990s and the welcome sight of Nike's 'Futura' logo. The sponsor logo is presented in Pirelli's corporate colours of yellow and red, celebrating Inter's long association with the brand.
The shirt is not quite "a blackout" as has been a trend in recent years and the yellow trim complements the design perfectly. Inter wore an all-black kit in 1997/98 when Ronaldo was in his pomp while the collar is a copy of one worn by the 2009/10 team that won the treble.
Pete Hoppins of Nike Football explained: "Black and yellow is always a winning combination, and Inter’s third kit looks especially dynamic. We’ve taken inspiration from two special older kits, kept things on-trend with the ’90s themes we are seeing in streetwear at the moment and the result is something that we hope will appeal to all fans.”
There are also options to buy the shirt with a special font which incorporates a tyre track print into the numbers.
