There’s no denying that 2020 has been a year to forget, with a global pandemic bringing the world to a halt and unrest seemingly on the rise, so this year’s International Day of Peace has never been more important.
The holiday, which takes place on September 21, is sanctioned by the United Nations with the aim of promoting world peace - it’s certainly a lofty goal but something we can definitely all get behind.

To celebrate the occasion, Nike are set to drop the KD 13 featuring a ‘Peace Day’ theme as part of their ‘‘Peace, Love, Basketball’ campaign and they look like they’ve come straight from Woodstock. Ten time NBA All-Star Kevin Durant’s signature KD 13 silhouette, which is certainly no stranger to a funky colourway, has had a vibrant, psychedelic makeover with multi-coloured hippie florals dominating the shoe - Groovy Baby - along with peace symbols and basketball motifs.

The white rubber sole is offset by smiley faces and transparent Swooshes, synonymous with the brand, while the tongue features a colourful wave of tones. Another cool addition is Yellow Submarine artwork, of course, inspired by The Beatles’ song and 1968 film of the same name. These are very groovy, indeed!

Retailing for $150 (£114), keep your eyes peeled for the new Nike KD 13 “Peace Day” in September.
