Eilish McColgan 10,000m records set at the Great Scottish Run this year have been invalidated after it was discovered that the course in Glasgow was 150m short.
The Commonwealth Games champion ran what was a new British record and saw her best her own European record by a second with a time of 30 minutes and 18 seconds.

But the Scot has had her career-high records snatched away from her after the race organisers revealed that the track had been laid out too short as a result of human error.
Paul Foster of the Great Run Company released a statement to confirm their mistake. It read: “"We were recently made aware of a discrepancy with the 10k course at this year’s Great Scottish Run.
"Following an internal investigation, we have established it was 150m short.
"The shortfall in the distance was wholly due to human error. An area of the course was not laid out in line with the previously agreed plans.
"This error had a marginal knock on to the half marathon, but it was within tolerance and the course on the day was valid.
"We’re extremely disappointed that this happened at the 10K, on what was an incredibly positive return to the city for the Great Scottish Run following the pandemic.
Foster then went on to apologise to McColgan after her record was wiped.
"We have been in touch with Eilish to explain and to apologise,” he added.
"We will be reviewing our internal processes to ensure we cannot make this mistake again.
"There are no excuses for this happening and we're very sorry. We know we've let our customers down."
It is the second time that the Great Scottish Run has experienced an event falling short. The 2016 half-marathon course was also later found out to have been 150m short in distance.
Despite this setback, it has been a stellar year for McColgan after she claimed gold in the 10,000m at the Commonwealth Games, her first major title, while she also collected silver in the 5000m at the event in Birmingham.
In August, she went on to win silver in the 10,000m in the European Championships, which were held in Munich.
